What YourOceanz is
YourOceanz is the online ordering platform of Oceanz 3D Printing. It was developed in-house by Oceanz and is directly linked to the production process. Customers upload their STL or STEP files, select material and finishing, and see the price calculated immediately based on the chosen configuration. The platform is available to every Oceanz customer and accessible via simple onboarding with email and two-factor authentication.
The biggest difference compared to a generic upload portal lies in its integration with the rest of the company. YourOceanz understands the sector-specific requirements of various industries, dynamically applies tiered pricing including post-processing, and stores previously ordered parts in a product library. If you have any questions, the team is immediately available via WhatsApp, email, or phone.
This is how the ordering process works
The ordering process consists of three steps. First, you upload one or more files in STL or STEP format. The system can process multiple parts simultaneously and immediately calculates an indicative price based on defaults. Next, you configure each part: material (think of PA12, PA11, PAGF, or Stainless Steel 316L), finishing (polishing, vapor polish, coloring), and quantity. Tiered pricing adjusts automatically for larger volumes. Finally, you request a quote and view it directly online or in your inbox.
The interface has been deliberately kept simple. Changes in material selection or post-processing are calculated immediately, without having to go through a quotation request again. This makes the platform suitable for those who want to compare: PA12 versus PA11, with or without post-processing, small series versus volume.
Sector-specific flows
Where YourOceanz distinguishes itself from standard upload portals is in its sector-specific configuration. For food contact applications, the platform guides you to materials that comply with EC 1935/2004, EU 10/2011, and EC 2023/2006, with the corresponding Declaration of Conformity. For medical applications, there is a separate flow that aligns with ISO 13485 (certificate number 10548917), GMP certification and biocompatibility according to EN ISO 10993-1. This makes the quality management system a secured basis for compliance with the Medical Device Regulation (MDR), where patient, product, and clinical safety are always the starting point.
The available flows are configured for Retail, Industrial, Food Contact, Dental, and Medical. For each sector, the materials, processes, and documentation requirements are already pre-configured. This saves back-and-forth explanation and prevents errors that occur when specifications are not properly conveyed via email.
The product library
For customers who regularly order the same parts, the product library is one of the most frequently used features. All previously ordered products remain available in the personal customer area. Reordering takes three clicks: select product, adjust quantity, confirm. Working drawings, instructions, and specifications are linked to the original part and do not need to be resubmitted.
This is particularly relevant for series production and spare parts. Parts with variants, such as different colors, materials, or sizes, also remain neatly organized in the library.
Version control: always know which version has been in production
An aspect often underestimated when ordering 3D-printed parts is version control. Designs evolve. A bracket is produced differently last year than this year. A housing gets an extra cutout. With traditional email orders, that history quickly gets scattered across different mailboxes and order numbers. YourOceanz automatically tracks which version of a file was ordered, when, with which specifications, and in what quantity.
This is valuable for several reasons. For series production, it means reordering the previous configuration with a single click, without the risk of specifications deviating from what was delivered previously. For compliance-sensitive sectors such as food contact and medical, full traceability of the order history is a requirement, not a nice-to-have. And for engineers further developing their designs, it provides insight into which version was created and tested when.
Order status and communication
After placing an order, the status is continuously visible in the customer environment. Working drawings, instructions, or additional documentation can be added immediately. For questions during the process, the platform connects directly with our team via WhatsApp, email, or phone. No chatbot, no anonymous ticket inbox, but direct coordination with the colleague who thinks along with you.
That combination of online self-service and personal contact is a deliberate choice. Those who want to arrange everything themselves can do so. Those who wish to consult in between have direct lines of communication with the entire team. This fits the broader unburdening model that Oceanz employs: you do not have to choose between convenience and personal contact.
When is the platform suitable?
YourOceanz is suitable for all types of orders, from one-off prototypes to recurring series production. The added value is greatest for those who order regularly, wish to calculate variants, or work with specific industry requirements. For large or complex projects requiring co-creation or engineering support, direct contact with the internal sales team remains available. The platform does not replace this, but complements it.
Creating an account is free of charge. From the moment you are logged in, you can upload unlimited files and calculate prices. Commitment only follows upon an actual order.
