What is SLS 3D printing?
SLS stands for Selective Laser Sintering, an industrial 3D printing technique in which a laser fuses plastic powder layer by layer into a solid part. Because the surrounding powder acts as support, no support structures are required, allowing SLS to enable complex geometries and functional parts.
This makes SLS suitable for both prototyping and series production. You retain a great deal of design freedom because no molds or part-specific programming is required, and the lead time remains short.

Oceanz prints exclusively with EOS SLS printers, the industry standard for high-quality Selective Laser Sintering. With 19 EOS SLS machines and a monthly capacity of tens of thousands of parts, Oceanz delivers the scale and consistency required for series production.
EOS machines are known for their accuracy and repeatability. As a result, every batch is identical, a prerequisite for reliable series production.
Plastic materials for SLS
For SLS, Oceanz offers more than 10 materials, from standard PA12 to flame-retardant and high-performance engineering plastics. Which material fits depends on your application: mechanical load, temperature, food contact, or flame retardation.
Commonly used SLS materials are PA12 (versatile standard material), PA12 Grey (through-colored and scratch-resistant), PA11 (bio-based, high impact strength), PA11 CF (carbon-filled, high stiffness), PAGF (glass-filled and wear-resistant), PAFR (flame-retardant, aerospace), and ESD (anti-static for electronics). Our engineers advise you on the right choice.
